Content that has an age restriction / rating, has so for a reason. Viewing of age-inappropriate content can have a lasting effect on a child’s emotional health. Whether children watch content with a parent, search for it themselves, come across it accidentally, or get told about it in the playground, if they do not have the ability to fully understand it and cope with it, it can cause harm.
This lesson plan provides the resources to use with upper primary children to understand why restrictions apply and what to do if they’re exposed to content that they are unable to process and cope with.
